Peace and Conflict Resolution’ is one of the focus areas of Rotary. Under this avenue, Rotray Club Of Pune Shivajinagar (RCPS) has planned a series of projects for the overall welfare of inmates of Yerawada Open Jail. As a part of this overall welfare project, Rotary Club Of Pune Shivajinagar, undertook a program of free eye-check up and distribute spectacles to the Yerawada Jail (Open) inmates on 6th July 2013 in association with another NGO ‘Navjeevan Mandal’ which had been working in this field for many years. Total 148 glasses were given. Chief Guest for the function was Rotary District 3131 Governor Dr. Deepak Shikarpur. Bharati Somni of Navjeevan Mandal and Jail superintendant Sudhir Kingre were present on the occassion.
