Service Projects ( Vocational ) Committee’ is one of the major avenues of service, ably headed by PP Rtn. Shirish Kshirsagar , and, supported by several members of the two sub committees, in this avenue. The ‘Vocation At Work Committee’, arranges such visits to places of work, small and big, for Rotarians to be better informed about, what goes on in our environs in pursuit of varied Vocations. Rtns Shirish and Vijay and Madhuri took the lead in organising the subject visit, on Saturday, 28 December 2019. 26 Rotarians and Spouses participated in the event. Early morning, by about 10:00 am all of us reached the gates of the factory. The factory is situated in the mountainous part of the Sahyadri landscape, about 20 km, from our homes. The weather was nice and cool with a nip in the air. We completed the formalities. By 10:30 am, as scheduled, we were ready to start our guided tour thru the plant. The tour got over by 11:30 am. From the main gates we were guided to walk between the two yellow lines, both outside and inside. Disciplined safety measure. We walked half a kilometre from the gate to enter the Reception. We walked another half a kilometre, within the plant, thru the spotlessly clean Production Lines. And then another half a kilometre, outside back to the main gate. Each one of us did enjoy a Can-of-Coke, at the end of the tour, while saying thanks to the very enthusiastic and receptive staff, who guided us all thru.
