ENTERPRISE EDUCATION-AN INTRODUCTION Prepared for Rotarians and Anns of RID 3131 By Rtn.Dr. Pradeep Wagh Rotary Club of Pune Shivajinagar, RCPS VISION: The vision of Enterprise Education is to provide an opportunity for every school going child, to develop an enterprising mindset, as a component of the child’s education so that it enhances his/her capability for understanding and undertaking eventually productive economic activities. Enterprise Education is being proposed as a compliment to current education so that school children, irrespective of the stage at which they drop out of schools , will develop concepts and enterprise skills that may help them look for an alternative economic career other than the scarce jobs of organised sector. An enterprising person is one who recognises his own potential vis-à- vis the resources around him/her, and with an original approach adds value to the resources to convert them into products or services, for a profitable economic exchange. Enterprising persons are required in all walks of society. Not more than 5 to 10% employment in the country is provided by Organised sector.90% of economic employment has to be provided by the Unorganised sector comprising inter alia rural and urban households/consumers, labour market, agriculture, business and enterprises, market for goods and services etc. Enterprise Education would then address the need of this vast UNORGANISED economic sector. In the TRAINERS TRAINING being proposed for Rotarians and Anns of RID 3131:  In classes IX through XII, the students would become aware and comprehend  The students would form a group, and working in a team, they would learn the key features of the Indian market-led economic system and the role of enterprises in the economy . by practicing the steps in creation of an enterprise, prepare a Preliminary Business Plan of producing and marketing a product / service as a ‘learning ’ experience . trainers and students training by these trainers 5000 numbers.  Excel sheet appended gives the costing of such Trainers’ Training , 100  Trainer’s training will be for miimum 6 hours -8 hours.  Student’ sessions could be between 10 to 12 hours spread over teaching periods made available to Trainers. Our club has conducted TRAINERS TRAINING for two batches of Anns and Rotarians in Enterprise Education.
